Signed up for Pinterest!!

Well, I finally got my invitation from pinterest to sign up so I did!! Let me tell you, there is a lot of inspiration there, not only for cookie decorating but for everything else that you could be interested in.  I have pinned some of my fellow cookiers because they are so good and I won't have to look so far for inspiration. I am still in the process of setting up my boards so who knows how long that will take. I could have quite a few boards by the time I am done!!! New Freebie Blog Design...for now!!!

Hi everyone!!!
Hope you like the new look of my blog!!! I was surfing the net on the weekend and came across "LeeLou Blogs".  She has freebie blog templates so I decided to give one a try and voila....what do you think?? I love it...it adds character to this blog, and until I can get some money to have someone design me one this will do for now!!! Free works for me, does it work for you???

Here they are...my first decorated cookies!!!

Here they are folks!!! They are by no means perfect, but I didn't think they turned out to bad!! These are only practice cookies and the family thinks they are good...including my daughter's friends!! Yeah that's right the daughter stole about 10 of them to share with her friends!!!  They even liked them(I guess that's good right)?  Gotta love those teenagers!!! After one of the girls ate the cookies my daughter decides to call me and ask about anything in the cookies being peanuts cause it just so happens the girl is allergic to peanuts...yikes!!! too late if she was(she ate the cookie anyway)...luckily for her there were no peanuts in the sugar cookies or traces of peanuts in anything I used....as my mom always said "Nothing like closing the barn door once the horse escapes!!"  Anyway, they taste good and I still need practice!!!...had a lot of fun making them.

YIKES!!! Just realized my skull and crossbone cookies look more like a ghost body with a skull head........

Today was a day in my part of the US that was crappy, weather wise; so I decided that I was going to try out my new Halloween Cutters.  So far, this is what they look like...they are not yet decorated but I thought they turned out fine. The big thing was they didn't burn..cause I think I may have rolled them just a little to thin with the exception of the cauldron which seems to be about the right thickness...now I will either decorate them this evening or tomorrow when no one is at home to disturb me and let's hope they turn out like they should!!!!

New Cookie Cutters..Cookies coming soon!!!!

Well, once again I went to Joann Fabrics and picked me up some cookie cutters.  Most of you probably have these(but they are new to me)..The leaf ones were on sale and the other set I got with my 50% off coupon so I got both sets for under $10.00!!!! Isn't that great....so now, with the new Halloween cutters and my new leaf cutters over the next few weeks I should be pretty busy baking and decorating cookies!!! I will post pictures of all of them as soon as I am done!!!  Thanks for stopping buy and to my fellow cookiers...

First Set of Seasonal Cutters!!!

Well, I was in Joann Fabrics and they had a 25% off sale on Wilton products and I bought my first set of seasonal cutters for Halloween....I decided I would give these a try and make some for my church rummage and bake sale....we will see how they turn out...I will post the pictures of them when I get them all done...can't wait!!!!
