Bunny Cake Pops!!!

I missed posting this last week so I will do it now.  There is a cake supply store not to far from me and the lady holds classes...well last Saturday we did cake pops for Easter...and here is what they look like...I had so much fun doing these...I have made cake pops but haven't ventured into making them these fancy so it was a learning experience for me....as always, I had fun making them and I want to share them with you...Until next time.....

Spring/Easter Cookies

I know it's been a few weeks since I posted any cookie pictures so I guess today is as good a day as any to post some....I had an opportunity to do some Spring/Easter cookies this past weekend just for practice. I'm really trying to get it to the point of perfection. I still need to practice a little more on filling in my cookies. I got the outlining almost down pat...just need a little more practice with that. I know they are not perfect, but they really got me in the mood for Spring and Easter...how about you???  Oh, I know I still need to post Valentine cookies, but that will be another day...

Newest Cookies

Hi Everyone!!!
I know I haven't posted any cookies in a while. I have a friend who was seriously hurt in a car accident last week and is in a rehabilitation center for a few weeks. I went to see her today. Instead of taking the regular flowers or candy or stuffed animals, I decided I would bring her some homemade cookies. She was really happy with them!!

Now I don't have a lot of cookie cutters in my collection(not yet, anyway)so I decided to use what I have. I used an ice cream cutter(cause ice cream makes anyone feel better anytime)!!!, a rainbow(just brings happiness no matter what) and a square cookie cutter(valentine envelope)on which I wrote sayings....and here is what she got!!!  Thanks to Adrienne from Have a cookie for the recipe used!!!!

Virtual Baby Shower

In case some of you didn't already know this, we have some pretty talented cookie decorators in this world. If you want to see what I am talking about just go to: flourboxbakery.com and click on the tidbits tab and you will see exactly what I mean. These ladies drew names for fairy tale characters and made cookies for a "baby shower" surrounding their particular character. I was so impressed by all of them that I can't stop talking about it!!  I have even pinned all of them to my boards which you can see here: www.pinterest.com/SugarFairy1 under Fairy Tale cookies. It is an inspiration to be among them and to listen to what they have to say about doing their cookies. They are a fine group of ladies and I am happy to "know" them through networking.

and Valentine's Day will be here...can you believe it?? We just finished celebrating Christmas!!! Oh well, that's the way it goes....to celebrate Valentine's Day, I went and bought some new cutters and here they are, can't wait to bake some cookies with them!!! I will post them when they are done...

Welcome to the New Year!!!

Hello everyone and welcome to the third day of 2012!! Hope it has been a good one for you so far...I have finally been able to get myself out of the "holiday mode" and back into the "groove" of everyday life(not that being in holiday mode is a bad thing). If you have made any resolutions for the new year I hope you can manage to stick with them..I always have a problem with that. I do know that in 2012 I am definitely going to do more cookie decorating(so that by the time Christmas comes around again) I am truly ready to take orders and make some holiday money!! I also plan on doing cake pops and cupcake bouquets.

Valentine's day will be here before we know it so I hope to have some new cookies up within the next few weeks. I need to go cookie cutter shopping for some new valentine cutters and I am hearing on the forum that Michael's has some new cutters...so guess where I will be heading out within the next day or two!!!

Nothing to do with cookies

Only 8 days until Christmas...can you believe it!! I know I certainly can't. Since Thanksgiving I think everyone has gone into super fast mode.  I think we all just need to stop, slow down and think about the holidays and what they are truly suppose to mean. Thanksgiving is a time of being thankful and grateful for what we have.

Christmas is the season where we are suppose to reflect on the meaning of that little baby boy born in Bethlehem and what He has done for us. No matter what our situation in life may be it is a time where we should be more giving and understanding of our fellow man...and maybe "give" a little more of ourselves. I know I find myself contributing more this year to our local Salvation Army then I have ever before..perhaps it is because this year has been a rather devastating year for some who, because of the economic situation; have lost their homes while others have had their homes destroyed by flood(particularly here in PA)and some just don't have anywhere to live at all. My heart goes out to each of them because it could just as well be me and my family in that same situation. We are fortunate that my husband still has his job, even though I lost mine. We are survivors and with God's help we will continue to be.

I would just like everyone during this holiday season to be just a little more patient and kind to those around us. We don't know their situation and they don't know ours. My mother always said that no matter how bad our situation may be, someone else is in a much worse situation. A little bit of kindness can go a long way folks...if you haven't already done so, dig into your pockets and give an extra dollar to your local organization that may be in need...better yet help a neighbor or friend who may need it but is to proud to ask....remember Jesus came for a reason....let us all "pay it forward".
